Problem

How can a state evaluate governance performance across all districts using a standardised, comprehensive assessment framework?

Solution

Developed the District Good Governance Index inspired by the national Good Governance Index, with extensive consultations to finalise sectors and indicators focused on citizen outcomes and service delivery.

Outcomes & Impact

11 sectors and 67 indicators designed for district comparison and improvement.
First edition submitted to the Government of Haryana in January 2024.
Motivates districts to strengthen citizen engagement and governance quality.
